极速 Asus Express Gate

假若能够立即按一按按钮就上网、沟通（FB、Twitter）或欣赏 MV、听歌，那绝对是方便。我总和朋友说，单为阅读、沟通等启动电脑，实是 overkill。这也是为什么我打算在近期购买 Asus Eee Pad Transformer，能达成我最基本的阅读、沟通、娱乐需求，并在必要时，充当快捷工作机械。
在 Asus Best Tech Blog 演说会时，Asus 团队介绍了 Asus 专有的 Express Gate，按一按按钮，便能完成简单的 网上阅读、沟通、娱乐需要。于是，便捧着 Asus N43，试一试。
It will be delightful and extremely convenient IF i’m able to web browse, communicate, or be entertained within the click of the button, without entering the OS. I always told my friends, for basic web browsing, communications and entertainment, switching on the laptop is nothing short of overkill. This is one of the reasons why I’m contemplating on purchasing the Asus Eee Pad Transformer.
At the Asus Best Tech Blog Briefing, the Asus Team demonstrated the use of Asus’ propriety Express Gate Technology, a technology that allows immediate power up and allow for immediate web browsing and etc without the need to enter Operating System. And so, I gave the Express Gate a run today, to see if it lives up to the name of “Express”.
Express Gate 按钮，电脑在 5 秒内进入 Express Gate。
Push the button and enter Express Gate within 5 seconds.
第一幕便是 Web Browsing，也是大众最常用的。You’re immediately greeted with the “Web Browsing” which is most probably the most common used capability of computers – To Web Browse.
日历 —— 专给工作狂。除此之外，还有记事本，提醒工作。Calendar for the workaholics and there is as well, a tab to make notes/reminders.

N43 也不愧是 Entertainment Laptop，Bang & Olufsen Sonic Master 音响 及 高清屏幕，让人听出耳油，观赏也如斯悦目，娱乐就是享受。是的，通过 Express Gate，你也能听歌、观赏 MV。The N43 is indeed a master in entertainment and lives up to being an Entertainment laptop. With its Bang&Olufsen Sonic Master Sound Technology and 1080p HD capable screen, it is sheer pleasure listening to music and watching MVs on it. And yes, you may do all these via Express Gate, indeed entertainment express!
通过虾米听歌: 这虽是网上的音乐，但通过 N43 听，还是那么清晰，一点儿也不含糊，也不杂质。Listening to web stream music over XIAMI through the N43, the music quality is much clearer and not at all muffled.
观赏 Youtube上的 MV，影像尤其清晰。Clear HD quality even for Youtube Videos (HD), finally a laptop that gives due credit to HD streaming online.
除了影音享受，Express Gate也内附小游戏。You won’t believe this, but there are already games included in Express Gate for Express entertainment.
最后，当然，也不能不尝试用Express Gate，读一读自己的博客，看看 Express Gate 的 Minefield 游览器能否让我阅读中文。And now, its time for me to take a look at my blog, to see if it displays fine. Express Gate’s browser is Minefield, a Linux browser. Reading chinese off the screen appears to be smooth, no apparent non-display or messy encodings.
原想通过 Express Gate 写博客，但，可惜，Express Gate 似乎不让我切换成中文，不能输入中文。I had wanted to write this blog post via Express Gate but to my disappointment, I can’t seem to switch to Chinese input and thus unable to type in Chinese.
于是，只好，”Enter OS （中间）” 或 “Power Off”。本应该直接点击 Enter OS，但决定先 Power off 试了一试 Power Off 的速度，真的很快，就 3 秒。之后，再次启动电脑写博客。And so, I had the option to “Enter OS” or “Power Off”, decided that I will do a “Power Off” to test the speed, it was amazingly fast at 3 seconds. After which, I switched the laptop on and went into the OS to write this blog post.
即使不能打中文，我还是很喜欢 Express Gate。可能是我还不熟悉 Express Gate 的 settings，或许，Express Gate 能允许中文输入，暂不得而知，再看看吧。Although I’m unable to input Chinese, I still like the functionality of Express Gate a lot. Will have to explore further to see if Chinese input is possible, it may be my oversight.

Thank you Moonberry, I’m actually still exploring as well. I’m loving the Express Gate function, but if only it supports Chinese input, I’ll probably love it more. Right now, replying through Express Gate!
