微软 Microsoft 在2006年尾，在例行的 service update 把我的 Internet Explorer 6 提升至 Internet Explorer 7 ，我基本上就没得做 IE6 的 testings 了，也不认为，IE6 除了 *.png support 问题之外，还会有什么让我超头疼的问题。

错，错，错！为了工作，和履行我对cross browsers compatiability的承诺，我昨天就下载了MultipleIEs（http://multipleies.en.softonic.com/），用MultipleIEs，你就能在电脑里安装不同版本的IE来做browsers testings。

原来IE6无法正确地interpret float attribute 和 height。这让我头大、头疼。当然，还有很多，很多css，js放映呈现的问题。

有人曾和我说过，自从我换了blog theme后，他就无法阅读我的部落格，我却一向认为那应该只是孤立问题。今天，我看到了我的部落格在IE6的鬼样子，真真就想把20年前喝的牛奶吐出来。

就这样，在准备我这周的实习报告，处理我的设计业务（客户联系）之余，重新整顿了三个网站，我的部落格，绝对包括在内。我的部落格，这回真的能够在IE6呈现了。南洋初级学院的新网站也重新 recode 了，南洋理工大学的 Bulletin 网站，也整修了一遍。全部问题基本上，算是解决了。

累死了！还好，我不是孤军作战。我有个 programmer/coder ，为我服务，和我一起奋斗。就是凯乐·怀特，我d’r-studio的御用programmer/coder。

总之，我讨厌，我恨IE6的存在，即便是知道仍有27%的用户仍在用这过时问题多多的混账游览器，但是，我还是火大，心烦。

希望，如Sitepoint所outline的，总有一天，就没人再用IE6，甚至是任何版本的 Internet Explorer 了。

Microsoft should consider this a forewarning — if the trend of the past three years continues, not one person who visits sitepoint.com will be using Internet Explorer by 2013.

With all of the buzz about new Firefox this and Opera that, I thought I’d reacquaint myself with the browser-of-choice for visitors to SitePoint.

So I went back three years, to 2005, and worked forward, comparing the browser that our readers used over the years. The results were startling, so I thought I’d share：

The above graph shows the percentage of IE users against other browsers. Using a simple linear equation, we can deduce that each day about 0.2% less people are using IE on SitePoint.

If this trend continues, then looking forward 1,797 days (or 4.9 years), IE usage will be down to zero!
Now, we’re talking three years of history, and millions and millions of visitors — visitors whose lives revolve around web browsers. And yes, Microsoft have in recent times re-invigorated their focus on developing their web browser. The trend, however, suggests that it’s not working.

With web industry professionals bailing at this sort of rate, if I were Microsoft I’d be afraid … very afraid.

这已经不是一个 Internet Explorer 独大的网络世界，IE 若固步自封，不在他们的 coding/rendering engines，browser coding support 下足功夫，Microsoft再大，再如何蛮横霸道地 by default 安装 Internet Explorer 到 windows 用户的电脑，用户还是能选择不碰 Internet Explorer 的。

毕竟，Firefox 3，Opera 等新生代游览器，都远胜 Internet Explorer ！
